We started by flipping through magazines, blogs and Pinterest to get some ideas for boy friendly ideas. The PBK catalog came in and I was immediately attracted to their nautical themes. We love the beach, scuba diving, sharks, etc., so it seemed like a good fit for us.
Once I ordered the bedding, I tried to match up the gray in the bedding and we did our usual painting of poster board to decide upon a color. Once Mimi and Papa were in town, putting the whole project together commenced...
The guest bedroom might have been one of the few spots in the house that had its original builder beige walls. We moved the queen size bed that was in the room into the basement for storage (until it was needed for Georgia's new bed frame just a few days later!). I sold the bed frame on our local neighborhood yard sale page. The empty room was ready to go.

Luckily, Nick remembered how to put Georgia's convertible crib back into crib mode after several years as a toddler bed and then a big girl bed...
