On Thursday night, Georgia and I sat down to prep her cards for her big V-Day party at school on Friday. She had already picked out some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cards/tattoos at the store the previous week. There were lots of decisions to make selecting cards for all of her friends. She took the process VERY seriously and she had a reasoning behind every selection.
On Friday, I dashed out of work so I could get to Georgia's class party. Her teachers always do such a great job decorating and making the party special for the kids.
Georgia was so excited to distribute her cards...
I was a tad amazed at the level of "valentines" being given out. I certainly didn't buy a box of chocolates for each of her classmates, like some kids distributed. I had no idea that Valentine's Day turned into semi-Halloween.
Of course, copious amounts of sugar was consumed at the party. I had to play defense a few times as over eager parents wanted to distribute snacks to all the kids, including G. The chocolate pudding was making me a nervous wreck with spoons all over the place and kids eating it with their fingers. Thankfully, daycare is peanut-free, so I only had to worry about the dairy.
When we got home, we spread out all the loot and Georgia proudly showed her Daddy all of her cards and candy (while Nick and I secretly ate all the chocolate goodies - the one perk for allergy parents!).
On Valentine's Day, Georgia and I woke up to all sorts of treats from Nick - balloons , cards, and flowers for each of us. G and Nick even whipped up some hot pink waffles for brunch!
Nick and I actually got to go out to dinner like real adults on Saturday evening thanks to our amazing neighbors who had Georgia over for a play date with her friends. We enjoyed a child-free meal and a crazy freak snowstorm that dropped a few inches of powder while we ate dinner. I was so excited to finally see snow that I accidentally left behind my leftovers!
On Sunday, we had royalty visit our house.... Queen Elizabeth! The cat was terrified and Georgia spent most of the time sitting on the counter afraid of being licked to death by the super friendly puppy. We even made Queen Lizzie's instagram account!
Our Monday holiday was all about cuddling on the couch and sometimes hiding from "scary" moments of a cartoon...
By Monday evening, the snow started falling, cookies were baking and school was cancelled for Tuesday. WOO-HOO! Perfect 4 day weekend...
