Dance Week - Part 2...

After having a ton of fun at the SugarPlum Tea Party last weekend, we followed it up with Georgia's last day of fall dance at school on Monday.  Since the parents don't get to see the class while the kids are at daycare, they invite the parents in for the last day of the class.  Nick and I were blown away last year when we got to observe Georgia's class.  She did so well following directions and hanging in there with the big girls.

This year was no different when it came time to sign Georgia up for dance class for the fall session.  Unfortunately, again, there were no girls in her class that signed up for dance.  It may be due to the fact that the boys greatly out number the girls in her class.  Luckily, the dance studio that comes to the daycare has always been great about letting her go to class with the girls a year older than her (ironically, the class above her is almost ALL girls!).

My Monday work schedule was crazy, so I headed into work and then ran out the door a few hours later so I could check out Georgia's "performance" at school.  The new dance teacher had a ton of energy with the girls.  Frankly, I give credit to anyone who has to interact with a group of mostly 4 year-old girls on a weekly basis and tries to get anything accomplished!

At times, I was slightly confused if this was a dance class or if Georgia was learning break-dancing after her "solo" performance...

Again, I was more than impressed that this little 3 year-old, who definitely beats to her own drum, followed along with the class and listened to the teacher's directions.  She was definitely a tad "silly," knowing that there were people watching, but I would expect nothing less from our little ham!!

After their warm-up, the girls participated in a few obstacle courses, like hopping around the room from "lily pad" to "lily pad" pretending to be frogs...

We may need to work on our flexibility a bit.  I don't see "Rockette" in her future quite yet...

The class might be worth the price alone just for the balance practice.  Lord knows, the poor kid has inherited her mother's balance skills (aka - NONE!).  I should take this moment to thank my college roommates for explaining to many-a-bar-bouncer back in the day that I really was sober and that I fell all the time, even when walking across campus in the middle of the day (true story!).

Winter Go Away...

I don't have much to say, except...

GO AWAY, WINTER!!!

Come back in December... or maybe January.  February works for me too.

Door duty has been a blast this week.
