V-Day Cookies...

There is nothing like a great snowstorm... except when it's on a weekday and has pretty much guaranteed you a 5 day weekend!  Thank you, state of Maryland, and your complete inability to handle 18+ inches of snow in less than a week's time.  Nick is out building his dream igloo fort in the front yard and Georgia is taking a nap, so it's time for Mommy to catch up on some photo uploads...

This past weekend, Georgia and I spent some quality time together (aka - killed an hour during the winter that will never end) frosting and decorating Valentine's Day cookies.  We used some G-safe sugar cookies that I discovered in the pantry.  While I was digging around in there, I also found some sprinkles from circa 2011 (Thank you, Target $1 bins!).  I was blown away when I was walking around our new Harris Teeter store this past week and decided to read a few frosting labels in the baking aisles.  Who knew Pillsbury funfetti frosting was completely dairy and peanut free?!?!  Even the chocolate frosting!  So, a few of those cans may have been thrown in the grocery cart!  This shall become a new staple in our house.  I'm already thinking of all the recipes I can now make Georgia-safe using this as a replacement for cream cheese and other frostings!

While Georgia certainly had fun "decorating" the cookies (aka - dumping massive amounts of sprinkles on them), everyone knows eating them is the big reward in the end!

Finger licking good...

Of course, when cookie decorating, a few sprinkles tend to get on the floor.  Luckily, Georgia has a new obsession with cleaning!  Excellent...  I hope this hobby NEVER goes away!

Georgia has a few new favorite things that arrived in a package from Mimi this week...

More Snow on the Horizon

The official new motto of the house these days is...

Nick bought me the "Let It Snow" pallet for Christmas this year and he claims it has brought all the snow to Maryland this winter.  After a few dry years, we don't seem to go a week this winter without some action.  This week looks to hold the trend steady as we're expecting our biggest (potentially) storm of the season!  I may be in school until August at this rate, but I'm certainly enjoying the random days home!

Of course, the cold means that we really haven't left the house all that much lately.  That doesn't mean that Georgia doesn't find ways to entertain...

Why wouldn't you wear your rain boots with your pajamas around the house??!

Georgia inherited a new Princess helmet from a friend of mine whose daughter refused to wear it, so she's been cruising around the house with her scooter wearing it...

On her way...

Thank you to everyone who sent Georgia packages for Valentine's Day.  She's had a blast with all the stickers, cards, dollars (she LOVES getting dollars in her cards), and even some tattoos from her buddy, Looch...

Sporting a new Looch tattoo!

Our cold nights have allowed for plenty of movie nights recently.  Georgia checked out "Turbo" a few weekends ago...

Cuddles with Daddy on the couch

So bored with Mommy!

We did manage to escape the house for a bit this past weekend for our neighbors' birthday party at a local kids' gym.  Georgia had a blast running around, playing with her friends, and swinging away like a monkey!  It made me yearn for warm days at the playground...

We shall see what winter has in store for us the rest of the week...
