Apple Picking 2014!

For the past 3 years, we've always gone to Homestead Farm in nearby Poolesville to pick apples.  This year, we decided to try something a little different and headed to Rock Hill Orchard in Damascus.  Both farms are about 20 minutes from our house, but Rock Hill is a much smaller operation and since we were crunched for time after a late nap last weekend, it worked out perfectly for us.

Georgia's beloved giraffe, "Safari," accompanied us to pick some apples!

Beautiful October day to pick some apples (Thanks, Auntie Sherrie, for my pumpkin shirt!!)

The good thing about being Georgia-size is that she can find her way into spaces that Nick and I can't really get to, so we sent her in to pick the apples!  If only she could REACH the branches...

My favorite apple pickers

Georgia loved looking for low hanging apples that she could pick and add to our bag...

Most of the bottom branches were fairly picked over, so we had to go with a different plan... go for the apples up at the top!

Family selfie...

I was flipping through our apple picking photos from past years and was fairly impressed that we haven't missed a year since Miss G joined our family.  Of course, her level of participation has greatly increased since year one when she was only 4 months old!!

Now onto baking these tasty apples into something delicious...
