Big Snow...

It finally happened... big snow!!  We were so excited to get some nice measurable snow after several dry winters and lots of "little" snow storms over the past few weeks.  These little snow storms may disrupt everyday life in Maryland, but they are not memorable and most times, the melt comes before we even get a chance to go out and play.  This one was awesome - about 20 inches or so.  It was more fun since it was Georgia's 1st big snowstorm EVER!  Even better, we got a 5 day weekend to enjoy it.

When we went to bed on Wednesday evening, we had maybe an inch or two on the ground.  But, when we awoke the next morning, we started to believe the rumors that we got 3-4 inches an hour overnight...

Checking out the snow early Thursday morning

We waited until the snow slowed down and then layered up and headed out.  Well, we tried to head out, but we ran into a little obstacle right outside the garage door...

Snow drift!!

As Nick said, "This is going to take awhile!"

We put Nick to work on clean-up duty!

Trying her best to contribute!

A glimpse into her future...

Georgia may not have been able to help too much with the shoveling, but she sure enjoyed the results of my hard work...

It only took Georgia a few minutes to remember that there was something even better than snow in the garage.... TOYS!  Apparently when you haven't seen your "summer" toys in months, it's beyond exciting to find them...

Who needs a shovel when you can mow the snow?!?

Soon enough, Georgia's friends joined her in ransacking the garage.  It's always interest to see bubbles flying while you are shoveling!

Jayson and Georgia decided to do a little grocery shopping!

Juliet wanted to join the shopping party too!

The only bad part about playing in the snow is that you still need to come in for lunch and a nap.  Someone was not a fan of that idea and plopped herself down on the sidewalk in classic toddler refusal mode...

Miss Pouty

After some bribery, which may have included a promise of a movie and cookies, I convinced Georgia to join me inside.  While Georgia warmed up and grabbed a quick nap, Nick continued to build his grand igloo in the front yard.  As soon as Georgia woke up, out we went...

Hanging out in her new igloo!

We may have snow in our yard until June at this rate!

Best Daddy!

Bennett even came over to join in the lawn mowing fun...

The best thing about a long snow day, you're exhausted by the end of it...

Bennett & G relaxing!

Until you get a second wind and realize you have four more days of "weekend" to enjoy...  PARTY!

Sporting a new look!
