Deck Update...

After waiting a year for the wood on the deck to settle, we were finally able to finish the project by getting the pergola (and the other wooden structures on the deck) painted.  We're thrilled with the final product...

Now that the deck is finished, Nick planted some clematis around the pergola and down below.  Hopefully, it'll grow up the structure and we'll have beautiful blooming flowers all summer long.

A few weeks ago, Nick also did some heavy manual labor and moved some of the bushes from the front yard to the back.  Again, we're so happy with how this turned out.  Our builders definitely went overboard with the plantings in the front, so we had more than enough to spare.  Nick always complained about mowing the yard in the area around the air conditioning unit out back, so it made sense to mulch this area and fill it in with some bushes.

Colors of Spring...

On Sunday, after celebrating Mother's Day in the morning with our annual family photo shoot and a yummy brunch, we came home to relax and enjoy the afternoon sunshine.  It was a tad chilly, so we wore our fleece jackets outside.  Georgia was quite the colorful diva running around with her photo shoot dress still on and her brightly striped jacket layered on top!

Hunting ants!

Georgia is still loving her new slide.  Another big birthday hit, Auntie!!!

Patting the slide, telling Nick it's "Daddy's turn!"

Georgia just discovered our dry ponds out back and is loving running around in the pebbles...
