Harvest Festival Parade!

Apparently the new PC way to "celebrate" Halloween these days is to have a Harvest Festival party.  Georgia's party was at school today and my own elementary school has gotten rid of the traditional Halloween party in favor of a harvest celebration.  I'm not quite sure what has happened to just celebrating Halloween, but apparently a harvest party is the new norm and more politically correct for our diverse neighborhood in this day and age.

As part of Georgia's Harvest Festival party, there was a parade with all the kids dressed up in costume (aka - Halloween!).  Since Georgia continues to be obsessed with cats, we found her the perfect costume.  She's been so excited each morning when she wakes up and sees the costume hanging in her closet.  Unfortunately, wearing it was just not quite as exciting.  She was fairly overwhelmed by the whole parade/party atmosphere at school today.  She spent half the parade crying and the other half trying to escape from her costume.  Not to be undone, the rest of her classmates behaved quite similarly!  The Ladybugs were an orchestra of misery during the parade!  :)

Georgia was grumpy, grumpy, grumpy as her class lined up for the parade, but then she spotted her beloved Ms. Maria, who was one of her first teachers in the Caterpillars room.  Georgia just LOVES Ms. Maria!!

Then it was time for the parade (and Miss Grumpy Pants was not excited about it!)...

Waiting, waiting...

And hysterically crying during the parade!

Along the route Georgia bumped into another one of her favorites - Miss Nathalie (her first teacher at daycare)...

Big hugs for Miss Nathalie!

After the parade, it was back to school for a little party...

PS - Thanks, Auntie Kris, for my Halloween shirt!  It was a perfect post-parade party shirt!!

We got home and decided to spend a few quality hours outdoors enjoying the fall weather before Hurricane Sandy heads this way later this weekend...

Blowing bubbles with her whisker remnants quickly fading away....
